Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Many home-bound Fluvanna County residents receive little to no outside connection beyond the exchange from the Fluvanna County Meals on Wheels program or our own Palmyra UMC volunteers serving boxed weekend meals with our Weekend Meals On Wheels Program. Our goal is to pack, organize and deliver a weekend meal with a caring note/card and friendly face each and every week. This program is always in need of packers, drivers, coordinators and last-minute people to help. Our clients are 60 years old or older, homebound in our community – those who are frail, elderly, convalescing or sick, with no resources or ability to prepare meals on their own. Many are lonely. Along with a nourishing meal, our volunteer drivers deliver friendly smiles, compassion and also serve as a liaison between the Community and the Client.

To volunteer for our Weekend Meals on Wheels mission, please send us a contact message or call the church office, 434-906-0650.
