Daniel Burch

Pastor

"Pastor Daniel" grew up on a family farm in Stafford County, Virginia and attended Randolph Macon University in Ashland, Virginia where he majored in religious studies and ethics. He has served rural churches in Kentucky and Virginia, is ordained as an elder in the United Methodist Church, and holds a Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) and a Masters in Theology and Philosophy degrees (TH.M.) from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond.

Upon completing his M.Div., Pastor Daniel was accepted into the Clinical Pastoral Education program (CPE) and served as a clinical chaplain for 10 weeks at VCU’s hospital, the Medical college of Virginia (MCV), mostly in Pediatric Trauma and Women’s Health units.

It is clear Pastor Daniel brings energy and vitality to the community and the congregation. He plans on reaching out to people and communicating easily by text, phone, or email, as well as in person. He will schedule office hours and make appointments. He looks forward to meeting the people of Fluvanna as he checks out the coffee shops and golf courses.

On the sidelines, Pastor Daniel is an avid golfer and likes to fish. He and his wife love to hike and play with their dog named Maker, a flat-coated retriever. Pastor Daniel also likes to read and research. His musical talents center around playing guitar and mandolin, learning the banjo, and in a pinch playing the trombone. In addition, he can play bells and hopefully will sing bass in our outstanding choir—and perhaps ring in one of our two bell choirs.
